Patricia Ann Boatman, age 92, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Saturday, July 8, 2023, at her residence.

Born August 31, 1930, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Irwin E. and Ethel (Collins) Bigley.

Patricia was preceded in death on April 12, 2006, by her beloved husband of 55 years, Myron K. Boatman, whom she married May 6, 1950.

After her graduation from New Castle High School in 1949, she attended Slippery Rock College. She enjoyed being a homemaker, taking care of her four children.

Pat was a Girl Scout leader for 15 years and when wintering in Florida, she often taught reading to the children of migrant workers. She was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Mitchell Home and Garden Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hake of Evans City and Jill Redfoot of Greenville, PA; two sons, Gary Boatman of Belle Vernon, PA and David Boatman of Burbank, CA; a daughter-in-law, Diane Boatman; two sisters, Mary Lou Williams of New Castle and Carol Smith of Ocala, FL; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Bigley and Rev. James Bigley; four sisters, Maxine Green, Betty Fisher, Winifred McGowan and Donna Bigley; and one grandchild, Greg Boatman.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 with Rev. Jordan Rimmer officiating.

Burial will be in Barkeyville Cemetery.
