Patricia Jean George, age 90, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of Dec. 19, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William and Matilda (Zimmerman) Druschel.
In 1956, she married her beloved husband, John George. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. George was a graduate of New Castle High School. She went on to Westminster College, earning her bachelor's degree in English and her master's degree in education. Patricia had a passion for traveling and writing. She served as a missionary in China, where she taught at a medical college. In addition to teaching in China, she had a published book of poetry and wrote several children's stories. Patricia served in the Peace Corps and described her many trips to China as "the most exciting, enlightening adventurous experiences in my life." She was a member of Northminster and New Hope Wesleyan Churches.
Patricia is survived by her children; step-daughter, Joyce George Colaiacovo (Harry) of Shenango Township, PA, her daughters, Deborah Daily Dingfelder (Robert) of Cocoa, FL, Kathleen George Pfendler (Thomas) of Columbus, OH, Patricia Jane George Babuscio (Gordon Stoernell) of Pittsburgh, PA; step son-in-law Angelo Perrotta; two grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia is preceded in death by one step-daughter, Angela George Perrotta, sisters, Ella Mae Forrest, Joselyn Druschel, Evelyn Marburger, brothers, Robert Heath and William Druschel.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
