Patricia Ann Barber Steinbrink was welcomed into God's eternal kingdom on November 29th, 2021.
Pat was born in New Castle on February 22, 1933, to Walter and Thelma Love Barber. She is survived by her younger brother Richard "Dick" Barber whom she loved dearly. Pat graduated from New Castle High in 1950 and enrolled in nursing school at Allegheny General in Pittsburgh.
Fred Steinbrink was the love of Pat's life. They married in June of 1954 and enjoyed over four decades together until Fred's passing in 1997. Fred and Pat are survived by three sons – Randy, Jay, and Jim – as well as nine grandchildren.
Over the years, Pat worked in several doctors' offices, as well as at Jameson Hospital. Many friends know Pat as an active Jameson Guild member. She loved the Guild and spent many hours at the hospital snack bar, bringing comfort to those with hospitalized loved ones. Pat always had a kind word, or sassy line, to bring a smile. Pat loved to knit and created countless newborn caps for Jameson babies and beautiful afghans for family and friends.
It is important to acknowledge the exceptional staff at Shenango on the Green, Woodside for the abundant love they shared with Pat. We are equally grateful to Kindred Hospice for their attentive care throughout her final months. Our family is beyond blessed for this support.
Visitation will be held on Fri. Dec. 3rd, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place on Sat. Dec. 4th at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, with Rev. John Yergan officiating.
The family would kindly ask that masks be worn during the visitation hours and the funeral service.
Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
We are grateful if you are inclined to make a gesture in remembrance of Pat and suggest that a contribution to the Alzheimer's Association would please her. Contributions may be made online at https://act.alz.org/donate.
