Pearl McDanel Collins Gardner, 87, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue, New Castle, and Nokomis, Florida, passed away the afternoon of December 27, 2015 at Jameson Care Center. Born May 13, 1928 in Ellwood City, she was a daughter of Earl U. and Blanche Gallaher McDanel. Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas R. Collins, Sr. on July 4, 1990. She subsequently married Judge Roy Gardner who passed away in 1996. After her graduation from Lincoln High School and the Pittsburgh Beauty School she became a self-employed beautician. She then became the jury clerk in the Lawrence County Court House. Among her many interests, she enjoyed politics, bowling, being involved in many aspects of the New Castle Playhouse, and social and travel groups. Pearl was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Darlene Collins of New Castle; one sister, Shirley Murphy of Ellwood City; and two granddaughters, Diana (Timothy) Lois of New Brighton, and Jill Collins of Los Angeles, Calif. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas R. Collins, Jr.; one sister, Audrey Ruth Ruby Caimano; and two brothers, her twin brother Earl C. McDanel and brother Melvin R. McDanel. In keeping with Pearl's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Lillyville Church of God.
