Obituary

Pearson Furst, of New Castle, PA, passed away December 5, 2011 from a fall, while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Pearson graduated from New Castle High School, attended Washington Jefferson College and graduated from Youngstown State University. While in college he spent two summers in the Marine Corps and later was drafted into the Army for two years during the Korean War. He retired from Youngstown Sheet and Tube after working for 20 years. He loved spending time hunting and fishing. He had a passion for learning something new every day and would read every sitting moment. Traveling was also a way he enjoyed learning, and he and his wife Kathleen traveled alot. They visited 63 countries and every U.S. State. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A., a member of the Eagles Club and of Challenges Senior Center.Pearson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen Riley Furst; three sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Monica Furst of Great Falls, Montana, David and Bianca Furst of Anderson, Indiana and Keith and Mary Ann Furst of Cortland, Ohio; four grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, James H. and Shirley Furst.Pearson was preceded in death by his parents Arthur Pearson Furst and Eleanor Hutcheson Furst.There will be no calling hours.A memorial service will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity in Pearson's name.
