Obituary

Philip Frances George, a beloved husband, father figure, a friend to many and a car enthusiast, passed away at Passavant Hospital after an extended illness at the age of 86 years young.

His body may have been old, but his soul and mind were young at heart. Phil and his wife Janice had a full life together, for 58 years this October. He was a good talker and liked everyone, he had exceptionally good friends and was proud of that.

Phil was raised on a farm and attended Princeton High School until his freshman year of high school when they moved to New Castle. He was a graduate of New Castle High School. He went into the Army and served his country in Bamberg, Germany. Returning home to New Castle he met the love of his life Janice Ruth Stoner.

Phil attended Spring Garden Automotive School and The University of Pittsburgh for a degree in Automotive Electronics. He then started George's Automotive in 1963, a business that still thrives today. Phil was always a car enthusiast; he loved old cars, new cars, race cars, anything with wheels.

He loved his God given family, Salli, Tim, Hayden and fiancée Taylor, and Hannah. Salli was his girl. Phil and Janice had a good life; they had a home in Florida for 21 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy George, brothers, Robert and Raymond George and niece Janet George. Phil is survived by the love of his life, Janice George, children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
