Philip Lee McCormick, 67, of Rosey Drive in Dickson, Tennessee, passed away August 24, 2015 in Tennessee. Born June 29, 1948 in McKeesport, PA., he was a son of Arthur P. and Eleanor Gibson McCormick. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Leech McCormick. He was a 1966 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Pa. Philip was a highly decorated veteran of Force Reconnaissance with the U.S Marine Corps as a forward observer for artillery. In 1968, Mr. McCormick was among survivors of the 77 day siege of Khe Sanh, Vietnam. Returning from military duty, he was briefly employed in a variety of jobs in the construction trades. Prior to his retirement, he was an over-the-road truck driver for many years, much of that time with Landstar Systems, Inc. and predecessor firms. Philip was a former member of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was a member of the Lebanon Presbyterian Church in West Mifflin. He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Lee McCormick Wills and son-in-law Tony J. Wills of Dickson, TN; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin M. Wills, Jacob L. Wills and Toni Lyn Wills; 1 great grandson, Cree Paul Wills; and his only brother, David A. McCormick of Brentwood, TN. At Philip's request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Hermon Cemetery, Mt. Hermon Church Road, New Castle, Pa on Saturday, August 29, at 10:00 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. John Yergan. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Philip L. McCormick. Arrangements are by the R.
