Philip Socash, 64, of New Castle, was called home to be with the Lord the morning of August 15, 2015 at his residence.
Born March 23, 1951 in Philipsburg, Pa., he was a son of Michael and Anna Ponish Socash.
Surviving at home is his wife of 42 years, Linda Ferrara Socash, whom he married June 2, 1973.
Philip was employed as a maintenance manager at College View Towers.
In his spare time, he enjoyed learning and working on computers.
As Co-Pastor of Faith Gospel Fellowship, he was active in Bible study and being a teacher of God's Word.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Katie Socash, who is currently a student at Slippery Rock University; two brothers and their wives, Michael and Ruth Socash and Matthew and Karen Socash, all of Erie, Pa; six sisters, Emma Schaefer, Mary Ann (Jerry) Heid, Theresa (Michael) Kisiel, Anne (Dan) McGarvey, Monica Preston, and Josephine (William) Rosswog, all of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, August 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Gospel Fellowship, 1726 Perry Highway, Volant, PA 16156, with Pastor Samuel Hill officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the family via Faith Gospel Fellowship.
