Phyllis A. VanNatten Sheehy, 80, of Mohawk School Road, Edinburg, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at her residence.Born September 5, 1931 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Donald B. and Minnie A. Henning VanNatten. She married Roy M. Sheehy on October 4, 1952, he survives.Phyllis was a 1949 graduate of Union High School and worked for a brief period as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone but spent most of her life as a homemaker looking after her children and grand children. She was a Red Cross volunteer and a former member of First Baptist Church.In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan R. Hardy of Cheswick PA; and a son, Paul B. Sheehy of Edinburg; five grand-children, Amy Walco, Peter Hardy, Kendra Sheehy, Breanna Sheehy and Gretchen Hardy; as well as seven great grandchildren, Arissa Walco, Ayden Sheehy, Joshua Hardy, Ezikiel Hardy, Arron Hardy, Troy Walco, Shawn Walco and Eli Hardy. Mrs. Sheehy is also survived by a sister Thelma Haskell of California.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory 2429 Wilmington Rd. New Castle.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec 7, 2011, at 12:30 p.m. from the funeral home with The Rev. Dennis Bupp and The Rev. Max Bungard officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald G. VanNatten and Robert C.
