R. Joyce Hellon, 85, of Hunters Woods, New Castle, went to be with her Lord and Savior the morning of January 31, 2015 at Countryside Convalescent Home in Mercer, PA. Born July 2, 1929 in New Castle, she was a daughter of William and Christine Agnew. Joyce was a 1947 graduate of New Castle High School and a graduate of Slippery Rock College. She married Calvin Westcott in 1951 who preceded her in death in 1964. She subsequently married R.D. Hellon in 1967 who survives. Joyce was a partner in The Quilting Bee located in New Wilmington. An active member of Shenango Presbyterian Church, she served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir and was a member of the soup making crew. In addition to her Dave, she is survived by a daughter, Sandra Westcott; one son, Calvin Westcott; and a step-son, Dave Hellon, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband; and one brother, Bill Agnew. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.,2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Amy Na officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
