R. Ronald Robinson, age 79, of Graceland Road, passed away the afternoon of September 10, 2015 at Jameson Hospital. Born February 12, 1936 in New Castle, he was a son of Charles W. and Anna E. Collingwood Robinson. Surviving at home is his wife of 58 years, Donna J. Catterson Robinson, whom he married May 28, 1957. A 1954 graduate of New Castle High School, Ron served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1959. Prior to his retirement, Ron was the co-owner and parts manager of Robinson Service and Equipment. Among his interests, he enjoyed woodworking and hunting. In earlier years he played fast-pitch softball and for several years coached girls softball. Ron's greatest joy was attending all of his grandchildren's sporting events. In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Brian McCarthy of New Castle; three brothers, Clair E. Robinson of New Castle, C. William Robinson of Cooper City, Fla., and James R. Robinson of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Ethan McCarthy and Meg McCarthy. He was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Ron's wishes, his family will have a private celebration of his life. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
