Ralph E. Bott, 86, of New Castle, passed away the morning of February 12, 2011 at the Avalon Nursing Center.Ralph was born on August 3, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the late Oscar and Edith Getts Bott. He moved with his family and was raised in Continental, OH were he graduated from Continental High School. Mr. Bott went off to serve his country during WWII in the US Navy as a Torpedo Gunner. Ralph married the former Mildred Wink on July 16, 1949. She survives. He loved fishing and hunting and was an active member of Faith Country Chapel EMC, serving as an usher and a member of the Wilson Fellowship Class.In addition to his wife, Mr. Bott is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janet L. and Stanley Puzio of New Castle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert L. and Joan Bott of New Castle and Douglas E. and Denise Bott of Volant; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and one granddaughter, Amanda Bott.Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, from 11-noon at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at noon at the funeral home. Pastor Russell Van Nest will officiate.
