Ralph B. Cooper, age 92 of New Castle, passed away the morning of June 19th, 2024, at his residence.

Born Nov. 9, 1931, in Greenville, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Ethel Marie (Johnston) Cooper.

On Oct. 11, 1951, he married his wife of 72 years, Glenna Jean (Richardson) Cooper. She survives at home.

Ralph bravely and faithfully served his country in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. He worked as a steelworker for 38 years and was employed by Sharon Steel Corporation until his retirement.

Woodworking, hunting, and cars were some of his favorite interests but what Ralph cherished most in his life, was family, especially his grandchildren. He was a long-time member of First Assembly of God serving as an usher.

In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by their children, Elaine (John) Chambers of New Castle, PA, Brad (Brenda) Cooper of New Castle, PA, Brian (Loretta) Cooper of Edinburg, PA, Marcy (John) Mazor of Butler, PA, and Brenda (Rick) Tyree of New Castle, PA; one brother Allen (Jane) Cooper of Edinburg, PA; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sally McVicker and Shirley Roberts and two brothers, Jim Cooper and Kenny Cooper.

Visitation will be held Sat. June 22nd from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation, at the funeral home, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Stephen DeSantis of First Assembly of God officiating and the New Castle Area Honor Guard conducting military rites.

Burial will be at Castleview Cemetery.
