Ray Noble Boyer, age 74, of Edinburg, died suddenly the night of September 9, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, due to injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born April 29, 1948, in Kittanning, PA., he was the son of Raymond W. and Anna Gladys (Altman) Boyer.
Ray was a 1966 graduate of Wilmington Area High School. He was a proud veteran after serving his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as an electrician for 35 years with Panelmatic, Inc. in Youngstown. He was a member of the IBEW Electrical Union Local 2241.
Ray loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren always held a special place in his heart. In addition to his family, he enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, hunting with his family and car shows.
He is survived by his children, Shawn (Gwen) Boyer of New Wilmington, Candace (Sean) Munley of Cloquet, MN, Brian Boyer (Justine Cornelius) of Pulaski, Crystal (Victor) Rayner of Pulaski, Nick Hudak of Youngstown, OH and Ed (Lindsay) Hudak of Delmont, PA; two brothers, David L. Boyer and Perry W. Boyer of Pulaski; two sisters, Delores (Rev. Tom) McCurdy of New Wilmington and Barbara (Harry) Pawlak of New Castle; his fiance', Kathryn Hudak of Edinburg; 12 grandchildren, Alexis, Jaret, Marissa, Michael, Samantha, Jared, Leslie, Wyatt, Justin, Eivin, Brooks and Carter; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene J. (Snyder) Boyer on January 4, 2010; six brothers, Allen, Gary, James, Wayne, Gerald and Raymond Boyer; and two sisters, Eileen Stewart and Janice Lewis.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, from 12:00-3:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation Friday at 3:00 with Monsignor John Rencewicz II of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church officiating.
The New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform military rites.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
