Raymond M. Krantz, age 38, of New Castle, passed away at his residence on Feb. 3, 2025, after a battle with cancer.

Born August 4, 1986, in Los Angeles, California, he was the son of Rudolph and Lillia (Martinez) Krantz. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Rachel E. (Tanner) Krantz, whom he married Nov. 25, 2011.

Raymond attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu and was a chef with Palate, 26 and 4 Brothers.

He was an avid fan of wrestling, baseball and football, especially the Raider's and LA Dodger's. He also enjoyed playing the drums and loved music, especially heavy metal music. Halloween was his favorite time of year, and was a horror movie fanatic, known for his wicked sense of humor. Ray owned a very meticulous toy collection and baking and cooking were his passion.

Ray's deepest love was for his family, and he had an overwhelming love for his boys, Roman Charles Krantz and Avery Marcus Krantz, both at home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother; three sisters, Veronica Krantz, Emily Krantz and Misty Garcia all of Los Angeles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

The family would like to thank AHN Hospice for their tremendous care, and acknowledge the outpouring of love and support from their friends, family and community.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, from 11:00 – 1:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 at the funeral home with a family member, Kate Merry officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside.
