Raymond C. Stoner, age 96, of New Castle, passed away December 28, 2019, at his residence.
Born August 30, 1923, he was the son to the late Lester and Mona (Gray) Stoner. He was married to his beloved wife, Mary Stoner, for 70 years.
Raymond attended Princeton High school and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as a Seabee during World War II. He was employed by U.S. Steel for over 35 years. What gave Raymond the most joy in life, was woodworking, hunting, camping and spending time with his family. He was also a member of Oak Grove Church.
Mr. Stoner is survived by wife Mary Stoner, three sons Ralph Stoner of New Castle, Dale (Sally) Stoner of New Castle, Roy (Laurie) Stoner of New Castle, one daughter Carol (John) Rush of New Castle, one sister Lois Sutton of Meadville, 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, Raymond is preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Stoner and one sister, Ruth Perdue.
A private service was held at R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. to honor Raymond's life.
Burial will take place at Rose Point Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
