Raymond E. Zarlengo, 82, of Bessemer, PA, passed away the morning of May 22, 2018 at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Born June 27, 1935 in New Castle, he was the son of Eugene F. and Jennie Gadzia Zarlengo.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia A. Zarlengo. He subsequently married Judith L. Ward Zarlengo on December 2, 1978 who survives in Bessemer.
Mr. Zarlengo received his BA Degree in Economics from Youngstown State University. He served his country in the US Army as a Sergeant during the Korean Conflict in Berlin from 1954-1957.
Raymond was an independent residential appraiser and owner of Ray Zarlengo Appraising Company and a former co-owner of Zarlengo Brothers Paving Company. Ray will be remembered as a hard worker who also enjoyed his work.
He was a dedicated member of Washington-Union Alliance Church.
In addition to his wife Judy, he is survived by two daughters, Julie R. (Robert M.) Donahoe of Peters Township, PA, and Jill N. Zarlengo of New Castle; one son, Raymond P. (Elizabeth B.L.) Zarlengo of Exeter, RI; one sister, Karen J. Borraccini of Boynton Beach, FL; one brother, Ronald J. Zarlengo of New Castle; and three grandchildren, Margaret Zarlengo, Sydney Zarlengo and Charlotte Donahoe.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin E. Zarlengo.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 25, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Washington-Union Alliance Church, 2103 W. Washington Street, New Castle, PA with the Rev. Richard Noble officiating. Military rites will be performed by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Lowellville Cemetery.
