Rebecca "Becky" Post, age 83, of New Castle, passed away the early morning of Aug. 18, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born April 17, 1939, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William Paul Heasley and Jessie M. Heasley Copple. On July 4, 1958, she married her beloved husband of 63 years, Burliegh "Whitey" Martin Post, Sr. He preceded her in death on Jan. 24, 2022. Becky was a graduate of New Castle High School in 1957. Following her time as a clerk at Cefalo's, she was the secretary for Fisher Big Wheel and LARK. In her spare time, Becky enjoyed crocheting and entertaining. She loved hosting card parties and being a part of card clubs. What gave her the most joy was spending time with her family. She had a big heart and always had an open door for anyone to come in to be welcomed as part of the family. Becky was a member at Shepherd's Lighthouse Church. Becky is survived by her children, Niki (Dr. Kevin) Moore, Cindy Post, Burliegh (Nancy) Marty Post, Jr., all of New Castle, PA, and Wendy (Jimi) Iannizzotto of Lancaster, PA; two brothers, Joe (Pat) Heasley, Dan (Bev) Heasley, both of New Castle, PA; sister Gretchen Dover of New Castle, PA; 15 grandchildren, David (Devon) Dugan, Andy (Molly) Dugan, Ryan Dugan, Kristie Kusnierczyk, John "JB" Burliegh Kusnierczyk, Cody Post, Casey (Georgia) Post, Korilyn (Chris) Lepri, Richard (Erin) McCune, Jr., Samantha (TJ Rice) McCune, Mikel Post, Bailey Post-Raeburn, Frank (Amy) Moore, Erin Moore, Kayla (Kris Dovidio) Moore; 17 great-grandchildren, Dillon, Nolan, Rowan, Caroline, Troy, Zachary, Alauria, Ketron, Zoe, Alex, Maggie, Aiden, Austin, Alayna, McKaylee, Kenzie, and Charlotte. Also, she is survived by her cousin and best friend, Flavie Beil, as well as several nieces, nephews and friends, who are like family. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 22, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Rd, New Castle, with a funeral service immediately following at 7:00 p.m. with Reverend David Puffer officiating.
