Obituary

Reginald S. Murphy, 81, of 3236 Penny Lane, formerly of W. Northview Ave, New Castle, died the afternoon of May 27, 2010 at his residence. Born November 15, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of Ronald A. and Valeria Gallo Murphy. He married Bonnie Lou English on February 3, 1951. She survives in New Castle.Mr. Murphy served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1946 to 1948.He was formerly employed by the railroad and then by Lockley Machine where he was in sales. He became the owner and sales representative for Murco Industries where he later retired.Reginald was a member of the Eagles Club, the American Legion, the Travelers Association and the Elks Club.Among his many interests were golfing, bowling and playing cards, but he most enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.He was a member of St. Camillus Church.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane and Ronald Kinney of Beavercreek, OH and Susan Baker of New Castle; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas W. and Ryta Murphy of Houston, TX, and Gary M. and Keira Murphy of Henryville, IN; son-in-law, Jeff Baker of New Castle; one brother, James Murphy of North Carolina; two sisters, Cora Gabriel of Florida and Beatrice Grossman of Texas; ten grandchildren, Stephen Murphy, Brenna Murphy, Kaitlin Kinney, Maggie Kinney, Emily Baker, J.T. Baker, Sara Baker, Matthew Murphy, Kevin Murphy, and Liam Murphy. Reginald will be missed by his two closest life-long friends, Bob McClintock and Wayne Yoho.He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Ronald Murphy and one granddaughter, Jessica Kinney.He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard and Ronald Murphy and one granddaughter, Jessica Kinney.Visitation will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A blessing service will be held Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Father Thomas Lewandowski will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the New Castle Public Library, 207 E.
