Rena Rapp Probst, 56, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of February 16, 2016 at Passavant Hospital in Pittsburgh as the result of a prolonged illness.
Born June 1, 1959, she was the daughter of Robert F. and Minerva S. Rapp. Her father survives.
Rena graduated from Lawrence County Vo-Tech where she studied cosmetology.
Rena was a caring daughter, sister, and aunt. She spent a lot of time with her parents, preparing meals for them and providing personal care for her mother. She enjoyed being with people and she spent time shopping and selling at area flea markets. She also practiced her cosmetology skills on friends and relatives, cutting hair, doing nails, and so on.
She was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her father, Rena is survived by her brothers, Richard (Cheryl) Rapp and Thomas (Joan) Rapp, all of New Castle. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, William J. Quinn, and her mother.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA.
Funeral services will take place immediately following the visitation Saturday at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Chris Weichman of Clen-Moore Church officiating.
Internment will take place at Oak Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church or the City Rescue Mission of New Castle.
