Richard H. Blake, age 89, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 9, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Nov. 14, 1932, in West Pittsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert and Elizabeth (Evans) Blake. On Aug. 27, 1955, he married his beloved wife of 59 years, Anna (Rossi) Blake. She preceded him in death on Oct. 31, 2014. Richard faithfully served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict, and was a truck driver for the Corp of Engineers, in Europe. He was employed by Bessemer Cement, as an equipment operator, for 36 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing and was a member of the American Legion, Bessemer Rod & Gun Club, and the Mohawk Bowling League. He was also a faithful member of the Bessemer Fire Department and New Life Baptist Church, where he was an usher. What gave Richard the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia (Nick) DelPinto and son, Richard (Paula) Blake, both of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Amanda (Steve) Poulton, Matthew Blake; and one great-granddaughter, Giada Poulton. In addition to his parents and wife, Richard was preceded in death by one half-brother and one half-sister. Visitation will be held on Sat. Feb. 12th from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle. A funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at 1:00 PM with Pastor Greg Marshall, of New Life Baptist Church, officiating.
