Richard H. Dale, 89, of New Castle, passed away the evening of November 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born on August 6, 1928, in New Castle, to the late Glenn A. and Mildred Downs Dale. Richard married his beloved wife, the former Eleanor Dwyer, on October 29, 1946. They had just celebrated their 71st anniversary. Mr. Dale was previously employed with Shenango Pottery, American Cyanamid and retired from Lockley School in 1990. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by Richard A. and Dona Dale; Ronald Dale; Jennefer and Michael Bender and Samantha Bender and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Dale was preceded in passing by his parents; 3 brothers, Glenn (Jr.), Robert and Donald and one sister, Dorothy. Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Rd. Funeral services will be held immediately following visitation at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Rev Myles Bradley and Rev. Maryann JB Long will officiate. Entombment will be held at Castleview Mausoleum. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church or Croton United Methodist Church.
