Richard "Dick" Dean, 90, of Harlansburg Rd., New Castle, passed away the morning of March 19, 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA.Born in New Castle, PA on June 5, 1919, he was the son of the late Chadwick and Mary Thompson Dean.He was married for 63 years to Eleanora Cunningham Dean. She passed away on November 10, 2008. Mr. Dean was a self employed farmer. He was active in the Farmers Association and the Willard and Liberty Grange. He sold Hoffmans Seeds for many years. He was a life long member of Mount Hermon Presbyterian Church.Survivors include one daughter, Ruth Ann Riggans of Wyoming; and one son and daughter-in-law, James C. and Susan Dean of Pittsburgh, PA; six grandchildren, John Wesley, William Alan Riggans and Mary Criss Riggans Brown, all of Wyoming, Steven and Lisa Dean, of Mountain Top, PA., Jeffrey Dean of Pittsburgh and JR Dean of Florida; five great-grandchildren, Mason Thompson, Dillion and Austin Riggans of Wyoming, and Ainsley and Piper Dean of Mountain Top; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends who will all miss him deeply.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Richard Albert Dean; a granddaughter, Leslie Riggans; and two brothers, Wesley and Robert Dean.Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle and on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 10:15 - 11:00 am at Mt. Hermon Presbyterian Church, 3116 Frew Mill Road, New Castle.A service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Mount Hermon Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Mt.
