Richard D. DeFonso, 73, of 1412 Randolph Street, formerly of 309 Rear East Lutton Street, passed away the morning of February 14, 2014 at Jameson Hospital. Born February 26, 1940 in New Castle, he was a son of the late Frank and Rose Fabian DeFonso. Richard is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan Price DeFonso, whom he married August 5, 1972. A graduate of New Castle High School, he went on to attend New Castle School of Trades for welding. Richard was employed as a laborer with the Crane Company, formerly Pentex, for several years. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was a member of the Falcons Club and of St. Vitus Church. In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by a daughter, Denise (Adam) Durst of New Castle; a son, Todd DeFonso of New Castle; and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Addison.At Richard's request, there will be no hours or service. Arrangements are being handled by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
