Richard 'Dick' C. McCrumb, Sr., passed away the afternoon of May 7, 2023, at his residence.

Born Oct. 7,1933, in Ellwood City, PA, he was the son of the late Chester C. and Frances (Nye) McCrumb.

On April 4, 1953, Dick married his beloved wife, Betty Jane (Altman) McCrumb. She preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2006.

Dick was a 1952 graduate of Shenango High School. He was employed by Universal Rundle for 30 years, as in inspector, until his retirement in 1985. For 12 years, he worked as the maintenance supervisor for Castle View Cemetery. Dick enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and was a member of the NRA Turkey Federation. He was an avid Pittsburgh Penguin fan and looked forward to the times he spent at his camp in Clinton County. What Dick cherished most, was the time he spent with his family.

Survivors include two sons, Richard 'Rick' C. (LuAnn) McCrumb, Jr., of Portersville, PA, Ronald A. (Dawn) McCrumb of New Castle, PA; one daughter, Linda S. McCrumb (James Spears) of New Castle, PA; one brother, David C. McCrumb of Lancaster, PA; one sister, Jane Hogan of Greenville, PA; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by one brother, James S. McCrumb, and one sister, Marian Hoffman.

Visitation will be held on Thurs. May 11th from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

Burial will be alongside his wife at Fair Oaks Cemetery.
