Richard J. Harvey, 81, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of October 1, 2017 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born July 29, 1936 in Greenville, PA, he was the son of John C. and Mabel Barnhart Harvey. He was preceded in death on December 29, 2000 by his wife of 39 years, Grace L. Valenti Harvey, whom he married February 4, 1961. Richard served in the Korean Conflict with the Marine Corps for four years and was a member of the National Guard for two years. He was employed with Penn Power as a boiler operator. He held memberships with several organizations including the VFW in West Middlesex, the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He was an avid Steelers fan and enjoyed genealogy. He is survived by five daughters, Theresa Harvey, Donna Jolley of Ohio, Connie (Doug) Garver of New Castle, Kimberly (Scott) Reed of New Castle and Roberta Jean Harvey of North Carolina; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
