Richard E. Hutchison, 83, of The Grove in New Wilmington, passed away the afternoon of April 27, 2017 in UPMC Jameson.
Born June 10, 1933 in Butler, he was the son of Richard D. and Ethel Henry Hutchison.
He was preceded in death on June 18, 2014 by his wife of 57 years, Gloria J. Eisenhuth Hutchison, whom he married January 19, 1957.
Mr. Hutchison attended Butler area schools and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the Air Force as an Airman 1st Class from 1952-1956.
Richard enjoyed cars and often frequented car shows. He also liked reading and crafts. He was a member of Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Vickie (John) Bonivich of West Middlesex and Brenda (Tim) Clements of New Castle; one son, Richard (Debbie) Hutchison, Jr. of Easley, SC; two brothers, Jack Hutchison of Butler and Harry Hutchison of Virginia Beach, VA; three sisters, Marilyn Notoro of Pittsburgh, Marleen Bennett of Zanesville, PA, and Shirley Hoover of Butler; 8 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Pastor John Fraser of Maitland Lane Free Methodist Church officiating.
Full military rites will be performed by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
