Richard H. "Dick" Jones, 68, of 1203 Princeton-Station Road, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of August 4, 2013 at his residence. Born January 25, 1945 in New Castle, he was a son of John C. Jones and Elizabeth Glenola Wagner Jones. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kloss Jones, whom he married August 29, 1981. Dick was a 1962 graduate of Laurel High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army as an E-4 during the Vietnam War. He was employed with Penn Power Company for 39 years as an equipment operator in the coal yard, retiring in 2007. Among his many interests were farming, traveling and hunting. Dick loved watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Lori Jones of Phoenix, AZ; three step-sons and their wives, Larry and Lauri Parker of Wampum, PA, Jason and Brenda Parker of Volant, PA, and Michael and Leigh Anne Parker of New Castle; three sisters, Glenola Jones, Helen M. McMurray and Winifred I. Black, all of New Castle; one granddaughter, Jessica Jones; and four step-grandchildren, Tristan, Brady, Jaden, and Julian Parker. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Viola Rohde and Mildred Anderson; five brothers, David Clair, Norman, John C, Leroy and Ralph Lloyd Jones.A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, August 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hermon Cemetery and will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Bupp. Military rites will be given by the New Castle Area Honor Guard.
