Obituary

Richard E. LaDuke, 86, of New Castle, passed away the morning of January 23, 2016, at the Edison Manor. Richard was born on April 23, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Eugene and Mary Iwanicki LaDuke. He is survived by his wife, the former Luvinia Shannon, whom he married on January 28, 1961. Mr. LaDuke owned and operated Allied Careers Institute, and International Transportation Institute in Detroit. He was a graduate of the Henry Ford Trade School and served his country as an MP in the US Army. When Richard wasn't hard at work, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Mr. LaDuke was a devoted member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Dale Turner of New Castle; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Julie LaDuke of North Sewickley, PA; one brother, Jack LaDuke of Brighton, MI; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in passing by his parents; one son, Richard E. LaDuke, Jr.; one daughter, Suzanne Copeman; and two brothers, Edward and Marvin LaDuke. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-3 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Blessing Service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Father William Siple officiating. Online condolences may be offered by visiting www.cunninghamfh.com.
