Richard Dale Minteer, 71, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of December 5, 2011 at his home. He was born in Mount Jackson, on March 31, 1940, to the late Mack and Alma Natcher Minteer.He married Joyce Ann Wharry Minteer on August 14, 1958. She survives. Richard was a graduate of Mount Jackson High School and worked as a supervisor for the United Parcel Service for 29 years and for G.O. Crivelli in the parts department. He loved collecting and playing records and enjoyed antique and classic cars. He was a member of the Independent Methodist Church.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Karina Minteer of Folsom, California, Rick and Kathy Minteer of New Castle, and Ken and Lisa Minteer, also of New Castle; along with five grandchildren, Ricky, Rhonda, Kenny and Mitchell of New Castle and Kendall Tess of Folsom, California.Richard was proceeded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Kenneth and David Minteer.Calling hours are Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, 10-11 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will be conducted by the Reverend Frederick Gilbert at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the funeral home.
