Obituary

Richard Bruce "Ricky" Morrison was born in Johnstown, PA, on July 26, 1950, and passed peacefully in his sleep on July 26, 2023.

Ricky was the second oldest son of William "Bill" and Frances "Fran" Morrison who predeceased him. The family moved to New Castle in 1955 when his father took ownership of the local Buick dealership.

He is survived by two brothers, Scott Morrison & his wife Padma Catell of Guerneville, CA, and Jamie Morrison of Surfside Beach, SC, and a sister, Leslie "Lee" Morrison of Miami, FL. His baby brother, Robbie Morrison, predeceased him in May 2023.

Ricky was a client of LCARC (Lawrence County Association for Responsible Care) for 20+ years. He resided in a group home where he was well-cared for and happy. The family is grateful for the excellent care, love and compassion the LCARC provided him through the years by house mothers Pearl, Sue, staff members of his home & office care teams (Denise, Trista, Sam, Lori, LeAnn & many others) and Crystal Weller his final Program Specialist. (Rick loved every one of you.)

Rick touched the lives of everyone he met saying 'We'll always be close friends." He had a photographic memory, a love of clocks, fairy tales, old Broadway musicals, church, God & the story of Jesus Christ's birth. "O Little Town of Bethlehem" was his favorite hymn, and "South Pacific" his favorite of hundreds of musicals.

A memorial service was held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home to give Rick's friends, housemates & LCARC staff a chance to say a final goodbye. He will be laid to rest in his family's plot in Gaylord, Michigan, alongside his parents & brother.
