Rita M. Reno, age 86, of Ellwood City, PA, passed away the morning of Feb. 4, 2023, at her residence.

Born May 11, 1936, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Floyd J. and Mary K. (Autherson) Smith.

On March 22, 1957, she married her loving husband, James H. Reno Jr. He proceeded her in death on May 2, 2015.

Rita was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and worked as a licensed practical nurse at the Buter VA Hospital for 15 years.

She loved spending her time crafting, crocheting, and being a part of the prayer group at Princeton Memorial Church, where she attended.

Survivors include one daughter, Kay Lynn (Harry) Foster, Jr. of Volant; three sons, Keith A. (Janet) Reno, of Ellwood City, Barry L. (Patty) Reno, of Ellwood City, and Bryan A. (Karla) Balch-Reno, of Glenn Dale, MD; and one granddaughter, Krista Foster.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rita was proceeded in death by one sister, Shirley Gearheart and one brother, Floyd J. Smith, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Wed. Feb 8 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place Thurs. Feb 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Stringer and Pastor Tom Henricks officiating.
