Robert L. Bott, age 69, of New Castle, passed away the late afternoon of April 19, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Care Center. Born May 9, 1951, in New Castle, he was the son of Ralph E. and Mildred (Wink) Bott. On Aug. 12, 1972, he married his wife of 48 years, Joan (Naples) Bott. She survives at home. Mr. Bott was a 1969 graduate of New Castle High School. For several years, he worked as a Process Engineer, employed by WCI Steel. Robert was very passionate about hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed the time that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his mother; two daughters, Jill Esenwein and Lesley (Mark) Frengel, both of New Castle; one brother, Douglas Bott of Volant; Janet (Stan) Puzio of New Castle; and five grandchildren, Raegen, Cole, and Brock Esenwein and Aleena and Brenna Frengel. Robert was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held on Thurs. April 22nd, from 10:00 am – 12:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A memorial service will follow immediately at noon with Rev. Matthew Bupp, officiating.
