Robert J. Caplan, age 63, of New Castle, passed away August 22, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital after an extended illness. Born September 10, 1957, in New Castle, he was the son of Leroy "Lee" and Marilyn (Sandler) Caplan who preceded him in death. A 1975 graduate of Neshannock High School, Robert was the President and Treasurer of Denvend, Inc., retiring in 2017 after 40 years of service. He formerly held several volunteer positions including Dispatcher and H/R Committee member with LEOC, board member of the New Castle Rotary Club #89, Municipal Emergency Management Coordinator of Neshannock Township, Officer and Board member of Neshannock Township Volunteer Fire Company, and a Board member of Temple Israel Memorial Park Cemetery. He was passionate about helping the local community and donating to worthwhile causes. Robert was a member of Temple Hadar Israel. He is survived by his sister, Terry Caplan, and brother, Richard (Pat) Caplan; two nieces; two great nieces; and two great nephews. Per his request, there will be no visiting hours or service.
