Robert E. Crum, 77, of 2301 Graham Avenue, New Castle, passed away the morning of March 15, 2015 at his residence.
Born December 12, 1937 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of Paul G. and Gladys M. Karnes Crum.
Preceding him in death on July 10, 2001 was his wife of 44 years, Margaret E. "Peg" Sloan Crum, whom he married December 15, 1956.
After attending both Union and New Castle area schools, he served in the Marine Corps Reserves.
Bob was employed in the maintenance department of National Steel Service Center for 21 years.
Among his many interests, Bob enjoyed fishing, music, and cooking. Most important to him was spending time with his family. He will always be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor as well as his generosity.
He is survived by three daughters, Deborah A. (Danual E.) Forsberg of New Wilmington, Lorrie L. (Robert) Stoffer and Kathy Sue (David) Kelly both of New Castle; one sister, Betty Thomas, of New Castle; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Paul O. Crum; and two sisters, Hazel Kegarise and Norma Hammers.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Matthew Bupp and Rev. Nathan Loudon.
Burial will be in Parkside Cemetery.
