Robert D. Shaffer, age 89, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Sept. 16, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Aug. 15, 1937, in Campbell, OH, he was the son of the late Elmer and Marion (Miller) Shaffer.

Bob served in the Air Force Reserve. He was employed by the county, serving as county treasurer, for several years. Bob also worked as a school bus driver for the local school districts. He enjoyed going to flea markets, garage sales, and spending time with his family. Bob was a member of the Bessemer Croation Club.

Survivors include two nieces, Karen (Richard) Cox and Carrie Sankey; several great nieces and great nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
