Robert F. "Bob" Edie, 62, of Heckathorne Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of February 9, 2011 in Allegheny General Hospital.Born October 9, 1948 in New Castle, he was a son of Richard P. and Ruth Coates Edie. He married Kathy Hughes on July 5, 1969. She survives in New Castle.Bob was a graduate of Laurel High School and attended Penn State, Shenango Campus.He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army.Bob was employed by CSX Transportation as a conductor from 1968-1990.He was a member of Rich Hill Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of Ellwood City VFW Post #252 and enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing grass.In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Shannon Edie and her fiance Justin C. Fell of New Castle; one son, Shawn Edie of Wilkes Barre, PA; two sisters, Shirley Booher of Volant and Nancy Woods of Mercer; two grandchildren, Justin G. Fell and Hailey M. Fell.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev.
