Robert D. Evans, 79, of 78 Harlem Avenue, McKees Rocks, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of May 14, 2012 at Ohio Valley General Hospital in McKees Rocks.Born September 20, 1932 in Bellevue, PA, he was a son of Arthur D. and Audrey J. Flanigan Evans.He married the former M. Eleanore Reynolds on October 28, 1972. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2003. He received his Bachelor's degree in 1956 from Allegheny College.Bob was the co-owner of the Hearing Aid Center with his wife Eleanore for over 35 years where he was a hearing aid specialist.He was a former member of the New Castle Rotary. Bob had been an active member of Third Presbyterian Church where he formerly served as an elder.He is survived by his former wife, Susan C. Lynn; a daughter, Debra Anne Evans of North Potomac, MD; two step-daughters, Patricia Rielly of Meadville and Christine Billyk of New Castle; two step-sons, Peter M. Thomas of McKees Rocks and Dominic Lynn of New Castle; two sisters, Barbara Donaldson of Sharpsville and Joan Jud of Easton, PA; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Eleanore.Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 18, 2012, from 10:00-11:30 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2012.. Pastor Michael Spicuzza will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to the charity of your choice.
