Robert W. Frenz, Sr., 87, of New Castle, passed away the morning of July 17, 2013 at Southpoint Personal Care. Born August 4, 1925, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Willis J. and Gertrude Von Moss Frenz.He was preceded in death on June 26, 2003 by his wife, Mary Louise Mabus Frenz, whom he married June 26, 1945. Bob entered the U.S. Navy in Sampson, New York, during World War II. Bob was a paper salesman in Pittsburgh prior to his employment with Frenz Petroleum, where he retired in 1987. He was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams and enjoyed golfing. His family was his greatest joy. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Robin W. Houk of Grove City; three sons, Robert W. Frenz, Jr. of New Castle, Randall W. Frenz of Grove City, and Ron Frenz of Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Robert Frenz III, Ryan Frenz, Amanda Hunt, Roman Hunt, Renard Weston Frenz, and "admitted favorite" Carly Houk; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jack D. Frenz. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, July 20, 2013, from 10:00-12:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 12:00 at the funeral home and will be officiated by Vicar Randall W. Frenz. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
