Robert 'Bob' E. Glass, age 90, of New Castle, PA, passed away the early morning of Aug. 30, 2023, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born Jan. 28, 1933, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer 'Happy' and Agnes (Zeigler) Glass.

On Jan. 23, 1953, he married his beloved wife of 70 years, Alberta (Scriven) Glass. She survives at home.

Bob was a graduate of New Castle High School. He was a member of the Unites States Army, serving in Germany, in the 101st Airborne Division. He went on to further his education at Youngstown State University and Cal State University, earning his bachelor's degree in education. He was employed by the New Castle Area School District, where he was a shop teacher, for 44 years, and served as a wresting and football coach, until his retirement. In his spare time, he also worked as a carpenter. Bob was active in his community where he served on the Shenango School Board for 6 terms, and The Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV Board, for 20 years. For 63 years, he was a faithful member of Shenango Christian Church where he was an elder and taught the adult Sunday School Class.

Along with his wife, Bob is survived by one daughter, Linda (Michael) Hall of New Castle, PA; two sons, Merle (Millie) Glass and Brian (Carmie) Glass, both of New Castle, PA; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Marlene Cheslock.

Visitation will be held on Sat. Sept. 2nd, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation, at the funeral home at 3:00 PM, with Brock Glass, officiating.

Burial will be at Center United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
