Robert N. Hinton, 83, of 23 Spring Hill Lane, New Castle, passed away the night of January 23, 2011 in Trinity Living Center, Grove City, PA.Born September 6, 1927 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was a son of Walter and Bertha Tomlin Hinton. He married Ethel Marie Schehl on February 24, 1949. She survives in Grove City.He was a PFC in the U.S.Army during WWII, serving in Germany and Switzerland.Robert was a truck driver for Norwalk Trucking in Beaver Falls, retiring in 1985.He was a member of the Teamsters and enjoyed hunting. Robert also was a member of St. Joseph the Worker.In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara and Thomas Kirkwood of New Castle, Kathie and Mike Potemra of Ellwood City, and Lyn Ann Hinton of Knoxville, TN; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert John and Lena Hinton of Yulee, FL, and Kenneth and Susan Hinton of Mercer, PA; two brothers, Jack Hinton and Walter Hinton both of Butler, PA; two sisters, Leonabelle Ray of Butler and Evelyn Warren of Goodyear, FL; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Elsie Good and one brother, Lorraine Hinton.Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, Jan. 26, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church. The Rev. Father Frank Erdeljac will officiate.
