Robert C. Hutchison passed away the morning of March 1, 2012, at Trinity Living Center in Grove City.He was born on October 27, 1915 to his parents, Curtlain and Bessie Davison Hutchison. He married Velma G. Walters on March 24, 1943 and she preceded him in death on November 13, 2005. Robert attended New Castle High School. He worked with the railroad before serving with the US Coast Guard, in the South Pacific, during WWII. After the war he worked as a bricklayer before becoming the owner of Pine's Cafe Tavern for 20 years, retiring in 1978.Robert was a member of the VFW #315 and previous member of the Elks Club and the Eintracht Society. He was an avid outdoors man, belonging to several conservation groups and had a passion for hunting and fishing.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law; Thomas C. and Lynn Hutchison of New Castle, as well as two grandchildren; Kyle and Kerri Hutchison.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Reider and Merida Reiber.Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012, from 3-7 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory on Wilmington Road in New Castle.Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Jason Schepp, will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the Eastbrook Presbyterian Church, 3727 State Road, New Castle, Pa 16101.
