Robert E. James, age 86 of Shenango Twp., passed away the morning of May 3, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Oct. 29, 1934, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Harry and Martha (McClintick) James. On July 28, 1954, he married his beloved wife of 66 years, Connie L. (Orner) James. She survives at home. Robert was a painter and lifetime member of 68 years, with the local union, 409. He loved car collecting, detailing cars, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed working outdoors and took great pride of his immaculate yard. He attended Castlewood Christian Missionary Alliance. In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Gregory (Paula) James of San Tan Valley, AZ, and Doug (Fran) James of Maumee, OH; one daughter, Robin L. Peak of Nokomis, FL; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harry and Harold James and one sister, Martha James. Visitation will be held on Tues. May 11th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately at 6:00 PM with Rev. James O'Hara officiating. All CDC guidelines will be in place in regard to wearing masks and social distancing. Due to CDC Pennsylvania guidelines, there may be limited access due to room capacity.
