Robert C. McBurney, 80, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2017 in The Villages Regional Hospital.
Robert Craig McBurney was born in New Castle, PA to Robert McBurney and Alberta Bert Shanor on June 1, 1936. He married Nancy, his high school sweetheart on August 23, 2003.
He graduated from New Castle High School in June, 1954 during which time he was an outstanding tennis and basketball player.
He is a veteran of the Army and was honorably discharged on October 17, 1958.
Robert worked many years in the textile business in Puerto Rico until he retired back to New Castle and later moved to The Villages, FL. He was passionate about golf and football. He was caring, compassionate and funny, but above all was his love for his family.
Robert is preceded in death by his son, Robert McBurney; his dad, Robert H. McBurney; and his mother, Alberta Shanor.
Robert is survived by his wife, Nancy McBurney; his daughter, Yvonne McBurney and husband Pedro Vidal; his son, Edward C. McBurney and wife Elizabeth Trullenque; one brother, C. Jay McBurney and wife Tracy; and his grandchildren Elena and Edward McBurney.

There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held on Saturday, March 4, in New Castle.
