Robert G. "Bob" Myers, age 73, of New Castle, passed away May 8, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Born October 11, 1951, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of Robert B. and Delores (Yasher) Myers.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Novak) Myers, whom he married on Oct. 23, 1976

After his high school graduation, Bob was employed with Rockwell International's forge shop where he worked on the computer line for 20 years. During that time, he saw the need for an emergency medical technician in the mill and started an EMT program which was established in 1992. When Rockwell shut its doors in 1993, he started down a new career path and enrolled in St. Francis' School of Nursing, graduating in 1995. He was hired into St. Francis' Intensive Care Unit where his compassion and kindness towards his patients also led to his involvement in the St. Francis Wellness in Neighborhoods program. In August 1997, he was named associate of the month for his commitment to the values and ideals of the St. Francis mission. In 2002, Mr. Myers' hard work paid off as he received the Cameos of Caring Award from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, given to those who embody the spirit of nursing. Bob ended his nursing career at Jameson Hospital where he worked in the Cath Lab.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Nicole (James) Duffee of New Castle; one brother, Raymond Myers of Louisiana; two sisters, Sherry Jones and Lori Moffo, both of Youngstown, OH; and one grandson, Aiden Duffee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, a brother-in-law, Bill Jones and one nephew, Matt Jones.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tues. May 13th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church – Holy Spirit Parish, 124 N. Beaver St., New Castle, PA 16101. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate.

Burial will take place in St. Mary's cemetery.
