Robert E. Pitzer, age 100, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of July 24, 2023, at Edison Manor Nursing Home.

Born July 15, 1923, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Morris and Jennie (Stewart) Pitzer.

On Nov. 27, 1945, he married his beloved wife of 73 years, Marguerite L. (Spate) Pitzer, who preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2019.

Mr. Pitzer was a graduate of Shenango High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served his country in World War II. For several years, Robert was employed by Flowline Corporation working as a Foreman in the inspection department, until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed golf, bowling, and the Pittsburgh Sports teams. He was a former member of Shenango Presbyterian Church where he was a choir member and past trustee.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (William) Reynolds and Patricia Linton, both of New Castle, PA; two grandchildren; Brenton Linton and Lacey Locke; and four great-grandchildren, Bobby, Tommy, Jaxon, and Parker.

In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Francis Pitzer; one sister, Gertrude McLure; and son-in-law William Linton.

A private service will be held at the family's convenience with the Rev. Mark Goswick, officiating and the New Castle Area Honor Guard performing military rites.

Burial will be alongside his wife at Oak Park Cemetery.
