Robert Dean Saylor, age 68, of North Olmsted, OH, formerly of Mechanicsburg, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior the morning of September 4, 2019. Born June 23, 1951 in Altoona, PA., he was the son of Donald S. and Eleanor Kurtz Saylor. Robert was preceded in death by his father Donald, on October 13, 2009 and his mother, Eleanor, May 22, 2017. A graduate of New Castle Senior High School, he received his Associates Degree in Business from New Castle Business College. He then worked for the Department of Navy at the Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg, PA., where he retired in April 2010. He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange, Ohio. Robert was an avid Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and Penn State fan. He received great joy being the Uncle of Dawn, Shauna, and DJ. He is survived by a brother, Daniel Kurtz (Toni Lynn Aiello Saylor) Saylor Sr. of Grafton, OH; one sister, Sharon Elizabeth Saylor of Fairview Park, OH; two nieces Dawn Michelle Saylor, Shauna Marie Saylor and one nephew, Daniel "D.J." Kurtz (Cassidy Nicall Saylor)Saylor, Jr Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at La Grange Baptist Church, 200 Church Street, La Grange, OH 44050. A service will take place at 6:00 PM, immediately following visitation with Pastor Noel Hack, officiating. The family suggests those attending dress casually and wear a sports related shirt or jersey. Robert will be laid to rest by his beloved parents, Donald and Eleanor, in Oak Park Cemetery. The service will held at 11:30AM on Monday September 9, at Oak Park Cemetery located at Oak Park Cemetery, 619 Sumner Ave. New Castle, PA. The family suggests making donation in Robert's name to Christ's Home, 1 Shepherd's Way, Suite 100, Warminster, PA 18974-3701, an organization Robert loved and supported.
