Robert Withers, age 83 of Neshannock Twp., passed away the afternoon of Dec. 23, 2020 at his residence. Born Aug. 30, 1937, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Altman) Withers. On Aug. 7, 1976, he married his beloved wife of 44 years, Daisy (Root) Withers. She survives at home. Robert was a plumber, employed for several years by R & H Plumbing. He loved Harley Davidson and cars. He was known for his red 1970 Chevelle. What gave him the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Daisy, he is survived by three daughters, Robin Bretz of Erie, PA, Shawna Bretz of New Castle, PA, Jessica Bretz of Georgia; one son, Richard L. Bretz of Erie, PA; his grandson Aaron Bretz and five great-grandchildren, Estella, Oliver, Eliajh, Madeline and Samuel. Mr. Withers was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Brenda Lutz, two brothers, David "Pud" Withers, Joseph "Jiggs" Withers and one sister, Ellen Furlong. Visitation will be held on Wed., Dec. 30th from 2:00 -3:00 PM at Maitland Lane Free Methodist, 121 E. Maitland Lane, New Castle. A service will follow immediately after visitation at 3:00 PM with Pastor John Fraser, officiating. All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and social distancing. Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
