Roberta "Bobbi" Rae Hermann, age 77, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Aug. 20, 2022, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born Dec. 17. 1944, in Ellwood City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marion R. and Grace (Morrow) Calvert. On July 21, 1990, she married her beloved husband of 32 years, Gerald Hermann. He survives at home. Bobbie was a graduate of Lincoln High School, in Ellwood City. She went on to obtain her Master of Education Degree from Slippery Rock University. For over 30 years, Bobbi taught at Shenango High School, as an English and substitute teacher. Gardening, cats and dogs, plants and reading were among some of her interests and hobbies. Above everything else, she cherished the time she was able to spend with her family. As a lifelong member of Calvary Independent Church, Bobbi was an Awana leader, Sunday School and VBS teacher, sang in the choir and was a member of the Sr. Saints. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son Matt (Amy) Shope of Beaver Falls, PA; daughter, Lynette (John) Popma of Brighton MI; stepson, Bryan (Eva) Hermann of Atlanta, MO; stepdaughter, Christi Hermann of Old Town, FL; her siblings, brother, George Calvert of Cassopolis, MI; sister Bonnie J. (Bob) Gregory of Shelby, OH; brother Daniel K. (Jan) Calvert of Indianapolis, IN, and eleven grandchildren. Along with her parents, Bobbi was preceded in death by one brother, John R. Calvert. Visitation will be held on Fri. Aug. 26th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sat. Aug. 27th at 11:00 AM at Calvary Independent Church, 424 E. Moody Ave., New Castle, with Rev. Charles L. Fombelle, officiating.
