May 27, 1941 — Oct 29, 2024
Roberta "Bobbie" Lee (Arblaster) Dean, age 83, of New Castle, was called to her eternal home on October 29, 2024, after an extended illness.
She was born in New Castle, Pa on May 27, 1941, to Ellen M. (Snyder) Arblaster and Robert L. Arblaster.
Bobbie was in the first graduating class of the current Laurel Jr- Sr High School in 1959. She loved to talk about her high school friends and looked forward to their yearly reunions.
She celebrated her 20th birthday on May 27th, 1961, when she married William "Bill" D. Dean. Together they raised their 3 children, Barbara (Richard) Ragnelli, Bill Dean and Bryan (Jeanann) Dean, all of New Castle.
Bobbie was an active member of Eastbrook Methodist Church (now Eastbrook Village Church.) A youth group favorite was the Halloween Hayride at their home. She was an avid supporter of the 4-H and FFA. She watched her children and grandchildren grow up showing their animals both in Lawrence County and several locations across the country. She and Bill could be seen at most of these locations watching their grandchildren in the show ring or in various other contests. She loved spending holidays and Sunday dinners together with her family. She also spent a lot of time supporting her children and grandchildren in various school functions and sporting events. In addition, she loved auctions, cattle, quilts and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, brothers-in-law William Braatz, Jim Parish and George Dean, and sister-in-law, Phoebe Parish.
She is survived by her 3 children, and their spouses. Her greatest love was her 5 grandchildren, Shelby (Brian) Fester, Layn Dean, Wyatt Dean, Angus Dean and Aberdeen Dean. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Ann Braatz, sister-in-law Sally (Pete) Makerevich, brother-in-law Phillip (Cindy) Dean and her great granddaughter Tenley Fester. She will be missed by her surviving nieces and nephews, and loving friends. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
